Well Halloween's not that big in Sweden so it works OK. :) I imagine it'd be a lot worse on Christmas! Especially if you do celebrate it. Less gifts. Much better to split the festivities a bit; keep them as far apart as possible for maximum spaced-out joy! But then again, maybe just one special day a year makes it all the more special...
Those people you know live in Asia/Africa? Feels like Christmas is a holiday in most of the Western world, and then some.

My sister's birthday just happens to be the same day, so we have some unconventional celebrations. :)

That is rather inconvenient. I have some friends who also have birthdays on Christmas. And they don't even celebrate the holiday. It makes me wonder if they go to school at that time of the year.
